The First Day of Spring

It's Saturday, March 20, 2010, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere!

Oregon Sugar Snaps are planted up against the garden fence, seedlings await transplanting, raspberries are to be relocated, and apple trees need pruning. Ah, but it's almost 70 degrees!

Put out some fifty or so leeks in with only 200 more to go. Onions, maybe 400, also need tending. As usual, the naive gardener bites off more than he can chew, thinking that after a long season hell be in the World Series by October. This is no longer next year, it's now. He is inspired by catalogues. He shall feed a hungry world, or at least a hungry ground hog and her young'ns.

At the same time, the poor man will experiment with blogging, thanks to his daughter's-in-law inspiration. (Maybe she can also edit the text, he hopes).
